Fitness by Phone is designed to motivate you to exercise, progress you to higher levels of fitness, help you exercise more effectively, and to reach your goals successfully!!! Whether you want to lose weight, gain more energy, be stronger physically, or just adopt a healthier lifestyle Fitness by Phone can help you.
You can choose to participate in a 12-week or 24-week Fitness by Phone program. As soon as you decide that Fitness by Phone is right for you, you will receive the following items before we have our first phone session:
• Your specially designed Fitness Diaries to record your goals and achievements.
• Your Caltrac accelerometer to keep track of your calorie expenditure.
• Your Polar Heart Rate Monitor to help you exercise more effectively and efficiently.
Each 20-30 minute phone session is always on the same day at the same time.
During your first phone session, your Coach will show you how to use your Motivational Activity Monitors (Caltrac & Heart Rate Monitor) and how to fill out your diaries. You will be recording your daily activity for the week to set a baseline according to your current physical activity.
The morning of your second phone session (and every session thereafter) you will fax or e-mail your completed diary to your Coach. She will review your week’s achievements and analyze the information you’ve provided to her. Later, when you have your session, she will work with you to set goals for each day of the upcoming week. Your goals will be very specific so that you know exactly what’s expected of you including what type of exercise to do, how long, what heart rate to exercise in and how many calories you need to expend.
Each week that follows, you and your Coach will discuss your accomplishments from the previous week and set new, challenging but achievable goals for every day of the upcoming week. Your Coach will continually progress and change the different variables of intensity, duration and type of exercise so that you will be constantly challenging your body to make improvements. Changing these variables will help you avoid the plateaus that sometimes discourage exercisers to continue with their fitness programs. This strategy also helps to prevent boredom and injuries.
A wonderful feature of Fitness by Phone is that you can choose which exercises you enjoy the most and you can workout whenever you want. Each week’s goals are designed around your busy schedule, so you can workout wherever you want. You also don’t have to worry about missing your exercise sessions due to conflicting schedules with your trainer.

Self-Motivation – Your Coach will help motivate you to exercise on your own during the 12-week or 24-week program you’ve committed to. Once the program is over, you will be so accustomed to exercising on your own that it will be natural for you to continue exercising without her. Her job is to help you make a lifestyle change by getting you to including exercise in your weekly regimen for the rest of your life.
Skills – Your Coach will be teaching you how to use your monitors and how to program your exercises each week so that you will continually make improvements. The information you learn from your Coach will help you reach higher levels of fitness and/or achieve any goal you set for yourself. Remember, exercise is a lifelong journey, your success depends on knowing what to do and how to do it.
